Electrical Team Leader

As a key member of our multi-disciplined diagnostic team, you will be responsible for leading a team of skilled craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace. Your primary focus will be on improving performance and reliability across the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of skilled craftsmen in all aspects of the workplace
  • Plan labour and material requirements for plant needs as specified by Section Engineers
  • Plan and delegate activities of Team Members and contractors, through monitoring and controlling attendance and holidays
  • Assist in delivery of technical and safety training
  • Undertake Technician role as required
  • Carry out PPM inspections
  • Coordinate and supervise other services and contractors
  • Write and review risk assessments, method statements, and procedures
  • Ensure business health and safety instructions are followed
  • Use the Maintenance management system to its full capability for maintenance activities
  • Undertake training to learn new skills and use any training given
  • Involvement in plant improvement projects
  • Respond to breakdowns under own initiative
  • Deliver business communications to team

Requirements:

  • A recognised engineering apprenticeship (Preferably HNC but minimum ONC level or equivalent)
  • Sound plant engineering knowledge and experience of industrial systems such as hydraulic systems, pumps, drives, and gearboxes, heavy machinery, water cooling systems, material handling systems, dust extraction systems, robotics, and PLCs
  • Self-starting driven individual capable of leading a small team
  • Ability to work with cross-functional groups
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to methodically fault find any issues to root cause and front-line rectification
  • Experience of working under permit systems previously or has knowledge of how permit systems operate
  • A customer-focused attitude with an understanding of prioritisation with current resources
