About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator to join our team at Lovell, a leading provider of mixed tenure affordable homes. As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in providing commercial support to our estimating team, ensuring accurate and high-quality work that meets project briefs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Interpretation and Analysis: Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents to ensure accurate cost estimates.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all work produced is accurate, high-quality, and meets project requirements.
  • Land Appraisal and Cashflow Management: Conduct land appraisal permutations and cashflow analysis to identify best value options.
  • Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with the estimating team, PQS, design teams, supply chain, and internal project teams to achieve project goals.
  • Presentations and Communication: Present net cost estimates at bid adjudications, highlighting risks and opportunities for the business.
  • Market Awareness: Stay up-to-date with changing market conditions and ensure cost basis and data are accurate and current.
  • Mentorship and Support: Support and mentor junior members of staff, providing guidance and assistance as needed.
  • Subcontractor Management: Ensure recommended subcontractor bids are compliant with Lovell site requirements.
  • Site Visits and Client Focus: Conduct site visits on new opportunities and existing developments, ensuring a client-focused approach that meets key project requirements.
  • Procedure Compliance: Work within Lovell procedures and promote Lovell Way Standards at all times.
Requirements
  • Previous Experience: Previous experience in a similar role, with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Estimating Software: Previous experience with estimating software, including ASTA, Evaluate, and COINS, would be advantageous.
  • Driving License: A current driving license is essential for the role.
