We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our Treasury Finance team at Nationwide Building Society. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in leading aspects of our financial and regulatory reporting, implementing improvements, and supporting projects.
Key Responsibilities- Lead aspects of our regular reporting of results and performance, telling the story of Treasury performance and helping others understand the impact of Treasury accounting on results.
- Prepare and review key aspects of our monthly reporting and analysis, collaborating with colleagues to understand commercial drivers behind the numbers.
- Develop and improve the way we do things, including ongoing continuous improvement activity and supporting key projects to develop our functionality for the future.
- Build relationships across the team, representing Treasury Finance where needed, and support junior colleagues with their career development.
You may have an accounting qualification, but this is not essential if you have significant career experience gained within a finance industry reporting environment. We are looking for someone with:
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) or qualified by experience
- Experience of working within a treasury or financial reporting environment in industry (Financial Services advantageous)
- Strong communication skills to communicate about technical matters to a range of colleagues and stakeholders
- Advanced IT skills including Excel, use of financial reporting or treasury systems advantageous
- Advanced analysis skills with the ability to distil and assess lots of numerical information
