About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Clinical or Counselling Psychologist to work with young people and their families in an eating disorders and related comorbidity service. The successful applicant will have a strong background in evidence-based approaches and a passion for engaging in evidence-generating practice.
The ideal candidate will be a registered and authorised supplier to the NHS and private healthcare providers, with a post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology. They will have knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities, and be able to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Requirements:- Current HCPC registration as a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist
- Post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS
- Knowledge and understanding of eating disorders and related comorbidities (e.g. anxiety, trauma, depression, self-harm), and the impact these on both children and adolescents, and their families.
- We will also consider applicants from newly qualified psychologists, or from those who are about to qualify (please clearly state in the application when you will receive HCPC registration).
- Prior experience in eating disorders is desirable but not essential for this position. Experience working with patients with obsessive-compulsive disorder, neurodivergence, trauma and personality disorders is also desirable.
