Job Title: Senior Nurse and Matron

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Nurse and Matron to join our team at King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Nurse and Matron, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and leading a team of nurses in the Acute Oncology Service.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will have a strong background in oncology nursing and experience in leading teams. You will be responsible for managing a caseload of patients, delivering individualized direct patient care, and participating in multidisciplinary clinics and team meetings. You will also be expected to undertake a variety of clinical skills and provide treatment and advice as per the acute oncology guidelines and scope of practice.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work autonomously as an advanced practitioner within acute oncology, managing a caseload of patients and delivering individualized direct patient care.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary clinics, participate in ward rounds, patient reviews and multidisciplinary team meetings.
  • Undertake a variety of clinical skills and provide treatment and advice as per the acute oncology guidelines and scope of practice.
  • Within the scope of practice and clinical competence, request diagnostic procedures and clinical investigations related to plans of care.
  • Utilize scope of practice to undertake a Non-Medical Prescribing role and provide advice on medicine management issues associated with the patient specialty group.
