Talent Torch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team. As a key member of our ecological team, you will be responsible for overseeing all ecological works for our projects throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and manage ecological surveys in support of planning applications and projects.
- Organise subcontractors and specialist consultants to ensure successful project delivery.
- Conduct report writing and desk-based works to support project development.
- Grow the ecological team under your guidance through business development and quality service.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure successful project applications.
- Manage client relationships and develop a portfolio of projects and clients.
- Associate (consultant) or Full (senior consultant) membership of CIEEM.
- Proven track record in consultancy, with experience of PEA, EcIA, and protected species surveys.
- Full UK drivers licence and access to own vehicle.
- Working knowledge of the Scottish planning system including planning policy and species survey/impact assessment guidance.
- Understanding of the risks and hazards associated with outdoor working and remote working.
- Willingness to stay away from home as required.
- Bat Survey Licence Holder.
- Schedule 1 licence holder.
- Experience working in the renewables sector.
- A degree in a relevant ecological field.
- Expertise and licences in any of the following areas: great crested newt or higher-level botany.
- Experience as named ecologist on protected species derogation licences.
- Experience of ECoW work.
- CSCS Card Holder (ecologist).
- First aid trained.
- Off-road driver qualification.
- Health and safety qualifications.
- Tree climbing and aerial rescue qualification.
- Competence with QGIS/QField.
- Company pension.
