Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant - Autism

Are you passionate about working with children with autism and making a positive impact on their lives?

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education in Chelmsford. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting children with autism, focusing on those with non-verbal or limited verbal abilities.

About the Role:
  • Provide one-on-one support to children with autism, implementing communication strategies such as PECS and Makaton to facilitate meaningful interactions.
  • Collaborate with our skilled team to create personalized learning plans that cater to each child's unique needs.
  • Assist in creating a supportive and inclusive classroom environment.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with individuals with autism (ASD), whether through paid positions or personal involvement.
  • A background in utilizing communication tools such as PECS and Makaton, particularly with non-verbal or limited verbal children.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to making a positive impact on the lives of children with SEN.
