Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Bishop's Stortford. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the class teacher and pupils in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the class teacher in planning, preparing, and delivering lessons to pupils of all abilities
  • Assist pupils with their learning, including reading, writing, and numeracy skills
  • Help to maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Support the class teacher in managing behaviour and ensuring pupil safety
  • Work with small groups and individual pupils to provide additional support and guidance
Requirements
  • Enhanced child DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one
  • Experience working with children or young people with additional care needs
  • 2 recent professional references
  • Experience with behaviours that are challenging
  • A calm and caring personality
  • A strong and resilient personality and commitment to pupil development
  • Reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills
  • Team Teach trained or willingness to attend training
