Our client, a reputable family-owned retail business, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager to collaborate with the Store Manager in enhancing the business's growth from their newly established office/showroom in Leeds.
As the Assistant Store Manager, you will aid the Store Manager in overseeing daily operations, leading the sales team, and ensuring the store achieves its sales objectives while delivering outstanding customer service. Your role will be crucial in driving sales, managing inventory, and fostering a welcoming shopping environment for customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing all facets of store operations, including opening and closing duties, inventory oversight, visual merchandising, and adherence to company policies.
- Support in establishing sales targets and tracking the sales team's performance metrics. Provide coaching, mentorship, and training to team members to meet and exceed sales objectives, while motivating the team to enhance sales growth.
- Guarantee exceptional customer service at all times. Train and empower the sales team to deliver product knowledge, address customer inquiries, and resolve issues or complaints efficiently.
- Oversee inventory management, including stock replenishment, monitoring stock levels, and ensuring accurate recordkeeping. Collaborate with suppliers and the purchasing team to maintain optimal stock levels and product variety.
- Create visually appealing product displays, effectively showcase merchandise, and enhance the overall store atmosphere. Ensure displays are regularly updated and align with company guidelines and seasonal promotions.
- Analyze sales data, generate reports, and provide insights to senior management regarding sales performance, customer trends, and product preferences. Make informed decisions to optimize sales strategies and foster business growth.
- Assist in recruiting, training, and developing a high-performing sales team. Schedule shifts, allocate resources effectively, and ensure adequate staffing levels to meet customer demands. Conduct performance evaluations, provide feedback, and implement corrective actions when necessary.
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with brands and suppliers, monitor product quality and delivery, and collaborate on marketing initiatives and promotional activities.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a safe working environment for employees and customers. Implement and enforce safety protocols, emergency procedures, and security measures.
- Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities. Identify growth opportunities and potential threats, implementing strategies to maintain a competitive edge.
The ideal candidate will be able to act in the Store Manager's absence, taking responsibility for all store operations. You should possess strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a sales team. Excellent customer service skills, strong analytical and problem-solving abilities are essential to drive sales performance and operational efficiency. A solid understanding of inventory management, visual merchandising, and retail sales techniques is required. Proficiency in point-of-sale (POS) systems, inventory management software, and other retail-related tools is also necessary.
The preferred candidate will have a background in retail, particularly in electrical goods, with a strong passion for service and sales.
