Electrical Design Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Engineer to join our client's team in Essex. As an Electrical Design Engineer, you will work closely with the Automation Department to produce electrical wiring diagrams for electrical control systems.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Electrical Engineering, with experience in designing and developing electrical systems for automated production machinery and special purpose machinery. Proficiency in EPLAN P8 and/or Pro Panel 3D is highly desirable, but not essential.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with the transition from AutoCAD to EPLAN, working with the Automation Department to agree on methods of working and drawing standards.
  • Producing electrical drawings and panel layouts, with supporting electrical documentation.
  • Ensuring all electrical drawings are updated promptly throughout the project lifecycle and shared with relevant departments.
  • Maintaining a database of preferred electrical devices to ensure consistency in functional hardware from project to project.

To be considered for this role, applicants will need to have a degree in Electrical Engineering, HNC/HND, or Apprenticeship, with previous experience in a similar Design role. In-depth knowledge of EPLAN P8 and/or Pro Panel 3D would be ideal, but experience in other design software tools, plus awareness of EPLAN or Pro Panel, will also be considered.

The successful candidate will be able to work in a project environment in cross-functional project teams and hold an EPLAN Certified Engineer (ECE) qualification. Salary: £40-45k DOE plus benefits (bonus, pension, paid overtime etc.). Location: Laindon, Essex.
