A full-time Specialty Doctor position is available in the Inpatient Mental Health Service at Pennine Care NHS FT. The successful candidate will work on the North Ward, Irwell Unit, a 22-bed acute mental health ward for females.
Main ResponsibilitiesThe post involves providing medical leadership and support to junior doctors, participating in ward reviews, and contributing to mental health act paperwork and tribunal-related work. The successful candidate will also be expected to participate in departmental management and clinical governance.
About the RoleThe Inpatient Mental Health Service at Pennine Care NHS FT provides a range of services for individuals with mental health needs. The successful candidate will work as part of a multidisciplinary team, including consultants, junior doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
Requirements- MBBS or equivalent qualification
- Section 12 approval or willingness to seek approval
- Good interpersonal and team working skills
- Leadership skills
- Knowledge of relevant requirements and legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and Care Programme Approach
- MRCPsych or equivalent MSc
- Registered as completed Higher Training with the Royal College of Psychiatrists
- Progress towards additional Post Graduate Degree, such as MSc or MD
- Experience of teaching and training
- Experience of management and service development
