Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Plant and Yard Manager to oversee the efficient operation of our yard, ensuring seamless logistics and transportation management, plant maintenance, and inventory control.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee overall site operations, ensuring efficient yard management
  • Manage logistics and deliveries, including scheduling, driver coordination, and external plant movement with plant suppliers
  • Lead plant maintenance initiatives, including implementing preventive maintenance programs
  • Manage procurement, distribution, and inventory control of consumables and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Oversee the company vehicle fleet, ensuring its maintenance, operation, and efficiency
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and partners
  • Manage in-house training courses and maintain the training matrix to ensure employees have the necessary skills and certifications
  • Collaborate with the IT department to enhance the existing plant tracking system and analyze data to identify areas for improvement in productivity, standards, and resource allocation
  • Partner with the MD and HoO to develop and expand the Plant Department
  • Work closely with the Diamond Drilling Contracts Manager to guarantee the team's access to equipment and replenish core drilling consumables to support operations
  • Lead initiatives to improve the comfort and functionality of the Plant Yard office space
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with experience in plant and yard management, logistics, and transportation management. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with suppliers and partners.
