About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Packaging and Warehouse Optimization Manager to join our team at McLaren. As a key member of our logistics and supply chain team, you will be responsible for driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our packaging and warehouse operations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Process Optimization
  • Analyze current packaging and warehouse processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement packaging standards to optimize handling of components, including transport utilization.
  • Establish and maintain a comprehensive 'Plan for every part' (PFEP) database to ensure standardized data structures for cross-functional business use.
  • Support the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) to streamline operations and enhance productivity.
  • Utilize lean manufacturing tools and methodologies to drive process improvements.
Project Management
  • Lead continuous improvement projects from conception through implementation, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality, supply chain, and engineering, to ensure alignment and successful project execution.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, performance metrics, and outcomes.
Data Analysis
  • Collect and analyze data related to packaging and warehouse operations to identify trends, root causes of issues, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Use data-driven insights to recommend and implement process enhancements.
Team Leadership and Training
  • Train and mentor warehouse and packaging staff on continuous improvement principles and methodologies.
  • Conduct regular workshops and training sessions to build team capabilities.
Quality and Compliance
  • Ensure all packaging and warehouse processes comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and company policies.
  • Implement quality control measures to maintain high standards of product integrity and customer satisfaction.
Resource Management
  • Manage resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials, to optimize packaging and warehouse operations.
  • Work with suppliers and vendors to improve packaging materials and solutions, reducing costs and environmental impact.
Performance Monitoring
  • Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on operational performance and improvement activities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree level or relevant experience in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in packaging, warehouse management, within the automotive or manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles, Six Sigma certification is a plus.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical software.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Effective leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) software.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
