Our Technology Strategy

We are building an in-house engineering team to drive our new technology strategy, focusing on cloud-native architecture, microservices, and DevOps practices. Our goal is to create a culture that makes Burberry a great place to work, where technology and style come together to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

We are responsible for a diverse portfolio of applications and products, including our e-commerce platform, internal systems, and cutting-edge technology showcased in our physical stores. Our team is passionate about merging technology with style, and we are committed to delivering innovative solutions that meet the highest standards of quality and performance.

Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Designing and implementing cloud-native applications using microservices architecture and DevOps practices.
  • Developing and maintaining our e-commerce platform, ensuring high performance, scalability, and security.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive innovation and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest technology trends and best practices, and applying this knowledge to drive business growth and improvement.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Full-Stack Engineer working with cloud services, microservices architecture, and DevOps practices.
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing, containerization, and orchestration technologies.
  • Experience with database technologies, data modeling, and data warehousing.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing GraphQL APIs, RESTful APIs, and microservices architecture.
  • Strong understanding of front-end technologies, including HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript.
  • Experience with automation testing frameworks, continuous integration, and continuous deployment.
  • Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.
  • Good understanding of infrastructure as code, Terraform, and AWS CDK.
Nice-to-Have Skills

We are looking for candidates with:

  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools, such as Jenkins, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies, such as Docker, Kubernetes, and Red Hat OpenShift.
  • Experience with automation testing frameworks, such as Selenium, Appium, and TestNG.
  • Knowledge of authentication and authorization mechanisms, such as JWT, OAuth, and OpenID Connect.
  • Understanding of microservices architecture, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
  • Knowledge of BFF (Back-end For Front-end) architecture and shared component libraries.
