Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Manager to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a Cost Manager, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients, ensuring that their projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Cost Planning and Estimation
- Develop and implement cost plans and estimates for projects, taking into account various factors such as scope, complexity, and risk.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure that cost plans are aligned with project objectives and timelines.
- Cost Management and Control
- Manage and control project costs, including monitoring and reporting on expenditure, identifying and mitigating cost risks, and ensuring compliance with client requirements.
- Develop and implement cost management procedures and tools to ensure efficient and effective cost control.
- Client Relationship Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and expectations, and providing excellent customer service.
- Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, and project teams to ensure that cost management services are delivered to the required standards.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration
- Lead and manage cost management teams, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities to team members.
- Collaborate with other teams, such as project management, engineering, and procurement, to ensure that cost management services are integrated with other project activities.
- Business Development and Marketing
- Identify and pursue business opportunities, developing and maintaining relationships with clients, stakeholders, and partners.
- Develop and implement marketing strategies to promote cost management services and increase business visibility.
- Knowledge Management and Process Improvement
- Develop and maintain knowledge management systems to ensure that cost management best practices and lessons learned are captured and shared across the organization.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance cost management efficiency, effectiveness, and quality.
Requirements
- Qualifications
- Professional qualification in cost management, quantity surveying, or a related field.
- Relevant degree or HNC level qualification.
- Experience
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management services across the full project lifecycle.
- Experience in cost planning, estimation, and management, including cost control, risk management, and contract administration.
- Skills and Competencies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop effective solutions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and project teams.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop team members.
