Highly Skilled Lead Mechanical Design Engineer Required

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team in Warrington. Our client, a well-established Engineering & Manufacturing Giant in the Nuclear and Defence Engineering Sector, is currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Design Engineer who holds a Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead development activities across multiple projects simultaneously, managing project teams internally and collaborating cross-functionally both inside and outside the organization.
  • Design equipment such as pumps, motors, pressure vessels, and have solid knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks/Creo, etc.
  • Process System Design (Pressure Vessels, Heat Exchangers, Skids, P&ID drawings and the ability to perform calculations related to pipe sizing/pump selection)
  • Mechanical Handling and Machinery Design (from concept) for high regulation applications (Complex Assemblies - Large Fabricated & Welded Structures and Machinery)

Familiarity working with regulated industries such as nuclear is also a requirement (or equivalent for other industries such as Oil & Gas, PetroChemical etc) demonstrating an understanding of codes, standards, and regulations applicable.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience with Front End Engineering design processes from concept development through feasibility studies, risk analysis, cost estimating and scheduling
  • Experience designing equipment such as pumps, motors, pressure vessels, and solid knowledge of CAD software like SolidWorks/Creo, etc.
