Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team at Murphy Applied Engineering. As a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering mechanical design deliverables at differing engineering stages, including feasibility, FEED, detailed design, construction support, and advice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with other departments and project teams within the company to ensure design requirements are met.
  • Review and approve all design documentation for a given scope of work, prior to formal client issue.
  • Deliver mechanical design deliverables at differing engineering stages, including feasibility, FEED, detailed design, construction support, and advice.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of a quality Mechanical Design Package.

Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Chartered Engineer with the Institute of Mechanical Engineering (or similar) or working towards chartership.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas sector and familiarisation with the IGEM Suite of standards for Gas Pipeline and Installations as well as other National and International Pipeline codes.
  • Experience of interfacing with clients such as National Gas Transmission and Cadent and knowledge of their specifications and standards, including the G/17 and G/35 design assurance process.
  • Feasibility, conceptual, and detailed design experience associated with the development of all aspects of Natural Gas Above Ground Installations and Pipelines.
