About the Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school environment in Lincoln. This part-time role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about working with children who have diverse learning needs.

Job Summary

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with their academic, social, and emotional development. You will work closely with teachers and other staff members to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment where every student can thrive.

Responsibilities
  • Support teaching and learning in the classroom, working alongside teachers to provide a tailored learning experience for students.
  • Provide interventions and additional support to students on a 1:1 or small group basis, helping them to overcome challenges and achieve their full potential.
  • Work with students who have additional needs, such as SEMH, ASC, MLD, and ADHD, to provide targeted support and help them to access the curriculum.
  • Follow the school's behaviour management policy to ensure a safe and inclusive learning environment for all students.
  • Assist subject teachers in managing student behaviour, helping to create a positive and respectful classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is desirable, but not essential.
  • A strong understanding of SEN practices and strategies is essential, as is the ability to communicate effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required, as well as patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are advantageous, but not essential.
