About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Communications Business Partner to join our team at Skanska UK. As a key member of our communications department, you will be responsible for developing and implementing internal and external communications strategies for our Building and Building Services operating units.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement communication strategies and plans for assigned operating units, including delivery of tactical activities.
  • Provide counsel to executives on communications strategy, tactics, and responses.
  • Develop and deliver B2B and account-based marketing strategies and plans, including events, email marketing, and paid social media, aligning to Skanska's brand position and value proposition.
  • Support employee engagement and delivery of internal change programs through targeted, inclusive communications, leadership updates, regular news, and town-hall events (digital and in-person).
  • Proactively own relationships with target media, developing and pitching editorial opportunities and leading crisis and issues communications for your areas of responsibility.
  • Manage Group Press Releases in line with stock market regulations and internal governance, liaising with internal stakeholders, including Investor Relations, and customers.
  • Contribute to driving the UK communications strategy and developing the newly restructured communications department, ensuring that our priorities are fully integrated with the overall business strategy.
  • Manage, develop, and provide strategic direction for your direct report, an experienced communications business partner.
Requirements
  • Experience of working in a senior in-house role and practice in all core communications disciplines.
  • Passion and a proven track record for media relations, crisis, and issues management, and B2B marketing.
  • Excellent writing and comprehension skills with the ability to strategically join the dots.
  • Sound decision maker, with the ability to combine strong strategic thinking with hands-on implementation.
  • A strong relationship builder who can build rapport at every level, with the credibility and authority to engage and influence senior leaders.
  • Proactive, can-do, and resourceful mindset, able to maximise impact and value and continuously improve within existing resources.
  • Resilience and agility, ability to prioritise and manage competing demands and adapt quickly to changing business needs.
