About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PV Engineer to join our team at ib vogt GmbH. As a Senior PV Engineer, you will play a key role in the development and technical lead of our large-scale PV projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Development
    • Assess site topography, potential constraints, and main components sizing for green field development, including BESS and agriPV.
    • Prepare and review design specifications and engineering design packages for large-scale PV projects.
    • Evaluate climate data sources and prepare energy yield simulations to provide key project performance indicators.
  • Technical Lead
    • Review and evaluate tender documents and technical requirements.
    • Prepare and review single line diagrams up to MV and coordinate with the grid team on HV specifications.
    • Lead and participate in site visits to identify buildable areas, optimize layout design, and prepare site assessment reports.
    • Lead and participate in technical discussions and negotiations with third-party technical advisors and consultants.
    Requirements
    • Academic Background
      • Academic degree in Electrical Engineering, Renewable Energies, or a similar field.
    • Technical Expertise
      • In-depth knowledge of PV system design, IEC codes, and specifications according to project and country-specific requirements.
      • Good understanding of techno-economic aspects of solar projects and latest market developments.
      • Hands-on experience in solar power plant design, preferably in utility-scale projects, with at least 5 years of experience in renewable energy projects in the UK and ideally 5 years in solar PV projects, BESS, and floating and agriPV.
      • Sound design knowledge in areas of solar plant layouts, civil design, SLD, MV, and HV equipment, power transmission, system loss calculation, and general electrical requirements of large-scale solar power plants.
      • In-depth knowledge of modules, inverters, cables, transformers, MV switchgears, relays, and industry best practices.
    • Software Skills
      • Mandatory: AutoCAD, PVSyst, PVCase or Helios 3D, and MS Office.
      • Desired: QGIS or ArcGIS.
    • Language and Communication
      • Business fluent/native English, with other languages a plus.
    • Personal Qualities
      • Pro-active team player with high degree of self-management and problem-solving ability.
      • Highly committed, with strong communication and negotiation skills, interpersonal and intercultural competence, positive attitude, enthusiasm to learn, willingness to contribute, and travel affinity.
