Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Vicar to lead our churches in mission and ministry in their respective communities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for bringing care and empathy to our congregation, deepening their discipleship, and identifying opportunities for growth and development.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Lead the churches forward in mission and ministry in their particular communities
  2. Bring care and empathy to the congregation, deepening their discipleship
  3. Identify opportunities for growth and development in the churches
  4. Make a proposal for the appointment of an Associate Vicar and the shape of the role
  5. Value work in schools and with families, prioritizing this in your ministry and the life of the churches
  6. Offer leadership to St Peter's as they consider the development of their church building
  7. Further the opportunities for collaboration and shared ministry across the benefice
  8. Actively participate in the life of Hull Deanery
We are looking for a Vicar who will
  • Empower us - sharing their passionate and lively faith
  • Thrive on the variety of our context
  • Focus on reaching families and younger adults, valuing our links with schools
  • Minister with empathy, bringing pastoral awareness and insights
  • Share the faith, based on scripture, in teaching, word and action
