Logistics Manager Role

The Logistics Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth movement of people, goods, and equipment throughout the site, guaranteeing organisational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety in both the pre-construction and construction phases of the project.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the movement of people, goods, and equipment to ensure organisational effectiveness, efficiency, and safety.
  • Assist the Project Team in coordinating associated trade contractors, including logistics and works activities, considering the neighbouring/local community.
  • Attend daily "Black Hat" briefings for the coordination of Trade Contractors and Sub-contractors.
  • Create a schedule of logistics meetings and ensure logistics are represented at site meetings.
  • Ensure components/equipment are delivered to site in line with the construction programme, taking into account any changes on site, such as design changes or delays.
  • Maintain an asset register of equipment, Mewps, and lifting equipment.

Requirements:

  • A proven track record of delivery within a construction management or logistics function that has led to performance improvement, such as cost reduction, process/service enhancements, and innovation.
  • Personal commitment to promoting a sustainable approach to logistic procurement and supply chain development.
  • Capacity to deal with complex logistics issues and implement logistics and supply chain vision, strategy, and priorities.
  • Site Management Safety Training Scheme (SMSTS) is required.
