Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Advanced Speech and Language Therapist to join our Neuro Rehabilitation team at London Bridge Hospital. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will work closely with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide high-quality speech and language therapy services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive speech and language therapy services to patients with neurological conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, and neurodegenerative diseases.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication, cognitive, and swallowing skills.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including neurologists, physiotherapists, and occupational therapists, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Conduct assessments, evaluations, and interventions to address speech, language, and cognitive deficits.
  • Document patient progress and maintain accurate records.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices in speech and language therapy.

Requirements

  • Professional qualification in Speech and Language Therapy.
  • Registered member of the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
  • Significant experience working in a neuro rehabilitation hospital setting.
  • Evidence of successful completion of tracheostomy competency framework and ability to independently manage patients with tracheostomies in a critical care environment.
  • Evidence of successful completion of Level 3 videofluoroscopy competencies/MBSIMP.
  • Competencies in FEES desirable but not essential, with training provided.
