About the RoleWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Arboriculture Manager to join our Facilities Services team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and delivering a high-quality tree management and inspection service to our school customers.
Key Responsibilities- Build strong relationships with school clients to deliver effective tree management and inspection services.
- Conduct professional tree inspections on a cyclical two-year basis or as needed, ensuring all required work is completed and updated in the Arbortrack database.
- Develop clear and open communication channels with contractors, ensuring a thorough understanding of operational tree work processes and best practices.
- Ensure accurate documentation is maintained and sent to client schools.
- Keep the Grounds and Trees Manager informed of developments with contractors or clients.
- Manage daily administration, including raising orders, visiting works for invoice approval, obtaining estimates, and responding to client requests.
- Maintain and manage an approved list of contractors and suppliers to meet and exceed customer expectations.
- Assist with analysis and data checks as required by the Grounds and Trees Manager.
- Promote and uphold equality, ensuring fair treatment of all colleagues and clients.
- Take responsibility for personal health and safety, reporting all accidents and near misses.
- Be aware of and manage risks associated with the role, especially during adverse weather conditions.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in the arboriculture industry within a customer-focused environment and be adept at liaising with contractors. You should possess strong tree inspection and assessment skills, and hold relevant qualifications in arboriculture.
Essential Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Arboriculture/Arb Technicians Certificate, Level 3 or 4 in Arboriculture.
- Industry-recognized tree assessment qualification (e.g., Professional Inspection Certificate PTI or QTRA).
- Proficiency in tree and pest/disease identification.
- Strong written communication skills and experience in compiling accurate arboricultural reports.
- Experience with specialist decay detection equipment.
- Competence in using Arbortrack software, Excel, Word, and database management.
- Demonstrated self-motivation, a strong work ethic, and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and excellent customer service.
- Full UK Driving License and access to a vehicle for work-related purposes.
- Generous annual leave allowance of 36 days (28+8 bank holidays) +1 for every year of service (up to a maximum of 5).
