Galliford Try's Asset Intelligence Division is seeking a skilled Security Systems Design Engineer to join our team.

In this role, you will play a crucial part in delivering integrated security programs for critical national infrastructure projects across various sectors, including Defence, Water, Energy, Transport, and Telecommunications.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Lead site visits and act as the primary point of contact for subcontracting design teams.
  • Develop comprehensive electronic security technical specifications.
  • Collaborate effectively with subcontractor design teams to ensure seamless integration.
  • Review and evaluate subcontractor price proposals and specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Contribute to the creation of technical documentation for tender enquiries or orders, ensuring clarity and completeness.
  • Maintain strict adherence to established security processes and procedures throughout all projects.
  • Provide expert technical input into electronic and physical security subcontract orders, guiding decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and approvals of design deliverables, upholding high quality standards.
  • Manage design changes efficiently through the Change Control Process, minimizing disruptions and ensuring project continuity.
  • Support a smooth handover process to Construction Managers and Commissioning Managers, facilitating seamless project transitions.

Your Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with integrated security systems, demonstrating a strong understanding of their functionalities and applications.
  • In-depth knowledge of physical security products and technologies, including access control, surveillance systems, and intrusion detection.
  • Valuable experience within the water industry, particularly with Thames Water, showcasing your familiarity with specific requirements and regulations.
  • Up-to-date awareness of the latest security equipment innovations and trends, ensuring you remain at the forefront of the field.
  • Proficiency in AMTECH cable calculation software, enabling accurate and efficient design calculations.
  • Comprehensive understanding of CDM regulations and temporary works requirements, demonstrating your commitment to safety and compliance.
  • Relevant industry qualifications such as ONC/HNC or NVQ equivalent, showcasing your technical expertise.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD software, facilitating effective design documentation and communication.
  • A passion for excellence and a dedication to providing exceptional customer service, driving client satisfaction.
