Job Title: Senior Capital Actuary

About the Role:

The Senior Capital Actuary will play a key role in the coordination and provision of regulatory and economic capital requirements to the business for Solvency reporting and model use purposes.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the production of regulatory requirements to support reporting needs, as well as the internal view of economic capital.
  • Engage with key stakeholders on internal model-related matters as required.
  • Support the development of the Internal Model in line with the Admiral Model Change Policy, including Igloo code changes, parameter changes, and governance updates.
  • Assist in the ongoing development of the Calculation Kernel (Igloo coding) and parameterisation processes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices.
  • Identify and escalate limitations in capital modelling methodologies, processes, and results.

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with staff at all levels across the organisation.
  • Ability to explain technical concepts simply to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of financial modelling platforms, including Igloo.
  • Understanding of stochastic modelling concepts and evidence of relevant capital modelling experience.
  • At least [X] years of capital modelling experience within the personal lines insurance sector, specifically in Motor and Household.
  • Experience in managing or mentoring junior members.
  • Good commercial awareness and ability to apply capital modelling principles to inform business decisions.
