About the Role:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and caring Learning Mentor to support Teachers in ensuring that pupils engage more effectively with their learning and help increase levels of achievement through appropriate provision. The successful candidate will also be required to cover PPA across the academy and work with both individual pupils and small groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Teachers in developing effective learning strategies for pupils with Autism
- Cover PPA across the academy, providing additional support to pupils and Teachers
- Work with individual pupils and small groups to develop their learning skills and confidence
- Act as a role model, challenge and motivate pupils, promote and reinforce self-esteem, and establish productive working relationships
- Have high expectations of and act in accordance with Trust policies and procedures and relevant legislation, particularly in relation to child protection and behaviour management
- Demonstrate a range of behaviour management strategies and engage constructively with and relate to a wide range of young people from different backgrounds
- Possess excellent communication skills, at all levels, and be very well organised
- Be motivated, independent, and have high expectations of themselves, always striving for the best
