Early Years Kitchen Assistant

Job Summary:
Bright Horizons is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Kitchen Assistant to join their team at their Maidenhead Day Nursery and Preschool. As a key member of the kitchen staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of the children in our care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to all relevant health and safety regulations.
- Assist in food preparation and cooking, ensuring that all meals are nutritious and appealing to our young guests.
- Ensure that dietary requirements are met, taking into account any allergies or special needs.
- Promote child welfare and safety, working closely with our nursery staff to ensure that all children are happy and healthy.
- Manage stock levels and budget requirements, ensuring that our kitchen operations are efficient and cost-effective.
Requirements:
- Previous kitchen experience, preferably in a childcare setting.
- A passion for nutrition and a commitment to providing healthy and nutritious meals for our children.
- Food Safety certification, or a willingness to obtain it.
- Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies, with the ability to adapt our menu to meet the needs of our children.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with our nursery staff and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
