The Forestry Department at Botanic Gardens Conservation International seeks a Forestry Manager to oversee the management and outreach of forest resources at Holden Forests & Gardens. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating scientifically based management and conservation efforts to restore the aesthetic, environmental, and economic values of trees and forests in the region.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate management and outreach efforts to restore forest values
- Supervise a team of staff to achieve departmental goals
- Collaborate with conservation and research staff to coordinate management and research of forest resources
- Elevate forestry outreach and create a regional educational focal point for forest management guidelines and knowledge
Requirements:
- Strong background in forestry management and conservation
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff and stakeholders
Working Conditions:
- Work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
- Travel to forest sites and meetings as required
Salary and Benefits:
- Competitive salary range: $55,000-$65,000
- Permanent contract
