Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled HGV Mechanic / Telematics Installation Specialist to join our team at SF Recruitment (Leicester). As a key member of our technical services team, you will be responsible for installing and servicing telematics equipment across the UK, supporting trailer builders, fleet customers, and end users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install new telematics equipment on trailers, including Electronic Brake Performance Monitoring, Tyre Pressure Monitoring, Fridge Temperature Monitoring, and Door Sensors.
  • Conduct fault finding and diagnostics on existing installations.
  • Commission, update, and monitor telematics units remotely.
  • Provide in-person support to customers and service facilities.
  • Complete job sheets and administrative tasks promptly.
  • Travel to various locations across the UK.
  • Flexible working hours as required.
  • Assist the Technical Services team as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety policies.

Requirements:

  • Ideal candidate will be trained as an HGV Mechanic or experienced in Telematics Installation/Service Engineering.
  • Clean driving licence preferred.
  • Strong faultfinding and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in following wiring diagrams.
  • Excellent customer engagement skills.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.

Working Hours:

Monday to Friday - full-time permanent days / flexible hours.
