Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Digital Safety Engineer to join our team at Reed Engineering. As a key member of our process safety team, you will be responsible for assisting in the development and maintenance of vessel safety cases, supporting safety assessment studies, and bow-tie diagrams for major accident hazards associated with vessel operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of vessel safety cases: Collaborate with our team to ensure that all vessel safety cases are up-to-date and compliant with relevant regulations and industry standards.
- Support safety assessment studies: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Develop bow-tie diagrams: Create detailed diagrams to illustrate the relationships between hazards, controls, and consequences.
- Assist Technical Authorities: Work closely with our Technical Authorities to identify safety and environmentally critical elements (SECE's) and develop associated performance standards and assurance activities.
- Review operational risk assessments: Conduct regular reviews of operational risk assessments to ensure that all necessary precautions are in place to prevent accidents.
- Participate in hazard identification and risk assessments: Collaborate with our team to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Support the management of change process: Assist in the development of procedures for managing changes to processes and systems.
- Develop emergency response plans: Create detailed plans to ensure that our team is prepared to respond to emergencies.
- Support process safety training: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions to ensure that our team is equipped to handle process safety-related tasks.
- Liaise with clients: Work closely with our clients to resolve process safety issues and ensure that all necessary precautions are in place to prevent accidents.
Requirements:
- Experience with offshore safety legislation and associated industry standards: A strong understanding of offshore safety legislation and industry standards is essential for this role.
- Bachelor or Engineering Degree or equivalent years of experience: A degree in a relevant field or equivalent years of experience is required for this role.
- NEBOSH: A NEBOSH certification is highly desirable for this role.
- Full UK Driving Licence: A full UK driving licence is required for this role.
