Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at Gilson. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional service to our customers by performing preventative maintenance, service, repairs, and calibration of pipettes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Visit customer sites to perform calibration, maintenance, and repair on customer's pipettes
  • Use computer software to track all service activities, including creating work orders, logging pipettes by serial number, and generating customer-facing documentation
  • Carry out critical aspects of the service workflow, including unpacking pipettes, reviewing paperwork for accuracy, cleaning, evaluating, repairing, adjusting, and calibrating pipettes according to Gilson standards
  • Maintain calibration equipment through proper storage and handling and work with Service Supervisor to ensure equipment is up to date on calibration records
  • Communicate with customers regarding the status of their order/pipettes
  • Determine customer's service needs and coordinate accordingly
  • Work with area representatives to cultivate new and repeat service accounts
  • Work as part of a team to cover service appointments and on occasion travel outside of the designated territory
  • Work with local Area Manager(s) and Service Scheduler/Coordinator(s) to achieve territory targets
Requirements
  • Good manual dexterity
  • Ability to travel
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record
  • Must speak English clearly and fluently
  • Overnight travel may be required, up to 50%
