About the Role

Blackstone, the world's largest alternative asset manager, is seeking a seasoned communications professional to join its Corporate Affairs team in London. As a key member of the team, you will work closely with senior stakeholders across all business units to support the company's communications strategy across EMEA.

Key Responsibilities
  • Media Relations: Handle inbound media enquiries, coordinate timely and robust responses to all stories, and provide advice on media relations and journalist enquiries to the Corporate Affairs team and EMEA executives.
  • Communications Support: Compile media reports, draft briefing notes, communications plans, press releases, thought leadership pieces, talking points, Q&As, media pitches, and speaking notes for use by senior executives of the firm.
  • Internal Media Training: Manage internal media training with senior executives to ensure they are equipped to handle media inquiries effectively.
  • PR Strategies: Support the development and implementation of PR strategies across the firm and for the various EMEA portfolio companies.
  • Communications Efforts: Support proactive and reactive communications efforts, including transactional communications and internal communications content.
  • Event and Award Opportunities: Identify and support event and award opportunities for the firm and its portfolio companies.
Requirements
  • Experience: A minimum of three years' experience in business/financial communications or a related role.
  • Network: A strong existing network of business journalists with direct relevance to Blackstone.
  • Technical Detail: Ability to swiftly grasp technical detail and write about it clearly and concisely for the media.
  • Prioritization: Ability to prioritize and multi-task in dynamic and challenging situations.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work with others as part of a team as well as taking individual responsibility.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact effectively with other senior level employees and outside contacts.
  • Reputation Management: Experience managing reputational risk and advising on strategy.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Foreign Language Skills: Foreign language skills relevant to EMEA markets.
