Estimator and Team Leader

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vehicle Damage Assessor and Assistant Manager to join our team at Activate Group Limited. As a key member of our Bodyshop Operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our body shops and delivering exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with planning and resource allocation to ensure efficient workflow and maximize profitability.
- Establish and maintain control of consistent workflow within the Bodyshop through effective capacity planning.
- Adhere to operational workshop loading systems and ensure all targets and deadlines are met or addressed.
- Manage daily production coordination and review site KPI performance to identify areas of potential shortfall.
- Manage customer complaints from initial contact through to conclusion, carrying out root cause analysis and implementing actions as required.
- Promote good communication throughout all areas of responsibility and develop a proactive attitude through regular, open, and honest communication.
- Carry out visual inspections to identify accidental damage and estimate repairs using the most economical method.
- Maintain awareness of incoming vehicles and flag any issues.
- Awareness and compliance of Health & Safety requirements.
- Ability to create estimates manually and via company systems.
- Verbal explanation of repair procedures and processes to the workshop and customers.
- Ability to value vehicles at market value to determine repairable economics.
- Ensure all chargeable materials are recorded on job cards for invoicing purposes.
- Review all open job cards daily and report ongoing and recurrent work in progress problems.
- Assist in the correct evaluation and justification of bodywork warranty claims.
- Estimate repairs required, including time, materials, and parts, and explain work required to customers and insurance assessors.
- Make efficient use of modern estimating methods and work in line with approved times set by Thatcham and/or other authorized repair times.
- Bring to customers' attention any problems, faults, and other issues that might impact on the performance and safety of their vehicles.
- ATA VDA Vehicle Damage Assessor qualification.
- Relevant experience as an estimator.
- Ability to qualify and quantify repairs required.
- Ability to negotiate effectively with third parties.
- Audatex Trained.
- Escribe trained and Adherence.
- Ability to discuss and negotiate agreeable solutions to customer problems.
- Ability to maintain personal technical knowledge and skills, including SMART repairs.
