About Us:

The Capital Hotel Knightsbridge is a luxury 5-star boutique hotel located in the heart of Knightsbridge, London. Our hotel offers an exceptional experience for our guests, and we are now seeking a skilled Painter & Decorator/Handy Person to join our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the effective maintenance and decoration of guest rooms, public areas, and restaurant.
  • Carry out repairs to paint and fabric of the hotel, including painting and decorating snagging to corridors and public areas as necessary.
  • Rehang wallpaper and replace silicone as required.
  • Communicate with hotel staff to become aware of maintenance needs and ensure timely response to requests.
  • Assist the Maintenance Manager and maintenance department to complete tasks in a timely manner.
  • Conduct lamp checks in all corridors and public areas at the beginning and end of the shift, and resolve any defects.
  • Ensure that basic electrical, plumbing, carpentry, A/C, and other maintenance requirements are carried out safely.
  • Adopt safe working practices at all times, ensuring own safety as well as all others in and around the hotel.
  • Proactively anticipate work that needs to be carried out at the hotel.
  • Ensure that any maintenance work on rooms/utilities, where reasonably practical, is carried out when the hotel is operating at low occupancy.

Requirements:

  • Some experience of working in a reception or hotel environment.
  • A friendly personality and excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong listening, speaking, and communication skills.
