Rheumatology Consultant Specialist (NHS Fixed Term or Substantive)

We are seeking a Consultant specializing in Rheumatology for either a substantive or NHS Fixed Term position.

This Trust is situated in one of the most picturesque rural areas in Northern England. The role involves approximately 8 sessions dedicated to direct patient care in rheumatology, along with 2 PAs allocated for Supporting Professional Activities.

It is important to note that there are no out-of-hours on-call responsibilities for the Rheumatology department. However, the successful candidate will be expected to provide urgent Rheumatological advice to support the medical on-call service when necessary.

Home working arrangements are available for up to one day per week, and there are opportunities for those interested in General Internal Medicine.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Primary Medical Degree
  • CCST in Rheumatology (or within 6 months of accreditation)
  • MRCP or equivalent
  • Exceptional clinical skills, encompassing both community care and hospital-based practice
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and support a multidisciplinary team, working effectively and sensitively within it.
  • The appointee is expected to reside within a 10-mile radius or a 30-minute travel time by car from the relevant Trust Hospital base. The Trust will cover certain relocation expenses, which will reflect actual costs but will not exceed £8,000.
  • Secretarial support and office accommodation will be provided for the appointee.
