POSITION: ASSISTANT STORE MANAGER - TROWBRIDGE | COMPENSATION: £11.44 PER HOUR
We are in search of a candidate who can lead and motivate the store team through effective communication, management, and strategic planning.
- Act as a champion for customers, utilizing creativity and ongoing enhancements to provide the best retail experience at Dorothy House.
- Consistently uphold high standards for both the shop floor and back-of-house operations, ensuring the store is a preferred destination for customers, donors, and volunteers.
- Manage stock control and ensure proper rotation of merchandise.
- Maintain organized backstage areas, adhering to health and safety regulations at all times.
- Assist in training, motivating, and managing volunteers, ensuring they are equipped to prepare goods for display, provide excellent customer service, and maintain cleanliness.
- Encourage volunteer recruitment and manage a volunteer schedule to ensure the shop operates during all designated hours.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and recommend actionable solutions.
- Ensure accurate financial procedures, banking, and administrative tasks are executed as required.
- Engage in ongoing education, training, and development, attending meetings as necessary.
WORKING HOURS
This is a part-time role, requiring 15 hours of work per week, across 2 days within a 7-day period. Regular weekend availability is essential due to the nature of the position.

Essential Qualifications:
- Proficient in Maths and English
- Strong team player with the ability to inspire others
- Excellent organizational and prioritization skills
- Customer-oriented with a positive and energetic demeanor
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in Retail or Charity Shop settings
- Previous management experience
- Valid UK driving license with access to a vehicle
