HLTA Assistant to SENCO

Burnley High School is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our team. As an HLTA, you will play a vital role in supporting the SENCO and class teachers in delivering high-quality education to our students.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the school is adequately resourced to provide effective teaching assistants for all required pupils' lessons.
- Support the SENCO with the day-to-day management of teaching assistants.
- Work under the direction of the class teacher or head of department to implement planning and assessment, working with individual or small groups of pupils to achieve high levels of accelerated pupil progress.
- Support pupils to overcome barriers to learning, promoting the inclusion of all pupils by developing their communication skills, supporting them to manage their behavior, developing independence and social skills, and taking responsibility for monitoring/reporting on the impact of class-based interventions.
- Provide supervision and guidance and learning opportunities in all non-lesson-based activities.
- Complement the professional work of the school teachers by taking responsibility for agreed learning activities.
- GCSE or Equivalent qualification in English and Mathematics at level 9-5.
- Knowledge of the principles of child development and processing of learning.
- Experience of support work with children in an educational setting.
- Experience of planning, preparing, and delivering agreed work and supporting programs for individuals or groups of pupils.
- Proven ability to listen to, understand, and work effectively with all children, staff, governors, and parents/carers.
