Job Title: Commercial Manager

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team at The People Co. in Wolverhampton. As a key member of our organization, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing various aspects of our business operations, including Purchasing, internal sales, and ensuring alignment between product, sales, marketing, and engineering departments.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage the purchasing department to ensure timely procurement of goods and services.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to optimize the procurement process and opportunities while negotiating favorable terms.
  • Install sales strategies within domestic and export markets to achieve revenue targets while looking to expand on other sales opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal and external sales teams to develop customer satisfaction.
  • Operate as a central liaison between the product, sales, marketing, purchasing, and engineering departments to ensure alignment of company objectives.
  • Implement standard operating procedures to ensure consistency, transparency, and efficiency across business functions.
  • Develop and communicate SOPs to all relevant stakeholders, providing training and support.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to capitalize on market opportunities and mitigate identified risks.
  • Explore new business opportunities and amplification avenues to provide revenue growth.
  • Drive new product introduction through the purchasing process in collaboration with suppliers.
  • Identify potential risks and compliance issues relating to sales, marketing, and purchasing.
  • Establish key performance indicators to measure the effectiveness of commercial measures and improve on these metrics.
  • Foster a culture of creativity, collaboration, and excellence to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and present product opportunity briefs on proposals from the sales force.
Personal Profile:
  • Hold a qualification in business administration, preferably an MBA.
  • Good level of written and verbal communication.
  • Proven experience in a similar commercial manager role.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
  • Strategic thinker with a track record of driving business growth and profitability.
  • Experience in developing standard operating procedures related to own job function.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and propose actions.
  • Experience of purchasing outside of the UK and the logistics of transporting goods.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
