We are seeking a talented Production Engineer to join our team at the Institute of the Motor Industry. limited. As a key member of our Engineering and Manufacturing department, you will play a crucial role in driving our business forward.

Requirements:

  1. HNC or HND or Degree in mechanical engineering or a related field, with experience in bespoke fabrication and assembly environments
  2. Ability to create clear production assembly work instructions
  3. Experience in developing production flow lines and implementing process improvements
  4. Knowledge of industrial engineering or project engineering principles
  5. General knowledge of root cause corrective action, lean, and project planning
  6. Experience with Mechanical CAD programs such as AutoCAD, Solidworks, or Creo

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Developing and maintaining production processes and procedures across Fabrication and/or assembly operations
  2. Leading and implementing process improvement activities to reduce waste and improve efficiency
  3. Supporting new product introduction, ensuring effective collaboration between Engineering and Production
  4. Gathering relevant production data throughout the New Product Development process
  5. Supporting the introduction of products at the concept phase and through production ramp-up
  6. Maintaining production process documentation
  7. Designing and implementing tools and equipment to improve the production process
  8. Designing and implementing production flow lines, factory floor plans, and modular workstations
  9. Contributing to the Design for Manufacture process
  10. Identifying areas for producibility and quality improvements in assembly, test, and product design
