About the Role

This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. As a Residential Childcare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support to children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide individualised support to children and young people, promoting their independence and self-sufficiency.
  • Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
  • Support children and young people in their educational needs, including homework and liaison with schools.
  • Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in child care, behaviour management, and therapeutic interventions.
  • Engage in reflective practice to continually improve the quality of care provided.
  • Act as an advocate for children and young people's needs and rights within the home and in interactions with external agencies.
Requirements
  • Experience in a children's home setting and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
  • Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and sleep-in shifts, to ensure round-the-clock support.
  • Driving license required.
