About the RoleThis is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of vulnerable children. As a Residential Childcare Specialist, you will be responsible for providing daily care and support to children and young people, promoting their physical, emotional, and educational well-being.
Key Responsibilities- Provide individualised support to children and young people, promoting their independence and self-sufficiency.
- Develop and maintain strong, trusting relationships with children and young people, ensuring their physical and emotional safety.
- Support children and young people in their educational needs, including homework and liaison with schools.
- Participate in regular training sessions to stay updated on best practices in child care, behaviour management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Engage in reflective practice to continually improve the quality of care provided.
- Act as an advocate for children and young people's needs and rights within the home and in interactions with external agencies.
- Experience in a children's home setting and a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or equivalent).
- Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and sleep-in shifts, to ensure round-the-clock support.
- Driving license required.
