Job Summary

To provide support and assistance to individuals with visual impairments in utilizing technology, including smartphones, tablets, and PCs, to enhance their accessibility and independence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist individuals with visual impairments in using accessibility features and tools on various devices.
  • Provide training and guidance on the effective use of assistive technologies.
  • Help individuals navigate and access digital content, including the internet and online resources.
  • Collaborate with individuals to identify and implement personalized solutions for their technology needs.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest accessibility technologies and best practices.
Requirements

Volunteers should have a strong interest in helping others and be proficient in using technology themselves. Full training will be provided, and no prior expertise is required.

Benefits

This role is suitable for individuals who are confident in their ability to travel to a city centre location and are eager to share their experience of using assistive technologies. Travel expenses can be reimbursed to facilitate travel to sessions by public transport or taxi, as needed.
