Menzies Distribution Limited is on the lookout for a dedicated and experienced Logistics Operations Supervisor to enhance the productivity and efficiency of our parcel sorting operations. Reporting directly to the Operations Manager, the successful applicant will be crucial in managing the daily functions of the warehouse and overseeing mechanical sorting processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the management and supervision of daily warehouse operations.
  • Contribute to the formulation and execution of strategies aimed at boosting productivity, minimizing expenses, and enhancing overall operational efficiency.
  • Track and evaluate key performance indicators (KPIs) to pinpoint areas needing improvement and aid in the implementation of necessary adjustments.
  • Work alongside the Operations Manager to apply flow management strategies, ensuring timely and precise sorting, processing, and dispatching of parcels.
  • Provide mentorship, training, and support to warehouse personnel, fostering high performance and productivity levels.
  • Facilitate communication and coordination with other departments to ensure smooth operational flow.
  • Establish and uphold standard operating procedures (SOPs) to guarantee consistency and efficiency in warehouse activities.
  • Collaborate closely with the site SHEQ Coordinator and Training and Compliance Coordinator to ensure all staff comply with regulations.
  • Maintain adherence to health and safety standards, ensuring a secure working environment for all employees.

Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a supervisory capacity within a parcel sorting environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with flow management techniques.
  • Strong people management abilities, with a talent for motivating and inspiring team members.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross-functional teams.
  • Proficient in warehouse management systems and relevant software applications.
  • Able to thrive under pressure and meet stringent deadlines.
