Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the execution, enhancement, and optimization of systems essential for acquiring and/or managing the land required for the railway.
- Collaborate with the Acquisitions Team to develop and refine processes, policies, and Health and Safety protocols for the timely acquisition of land, ensuring sensitivity to those impacted.
- Support the creation and implementation of a Learning and Development program for the Acquisitions team to ensure ongoing improvement in skills and adherence to professional Continuing Professional Development (CPD) standards.
- Enhance collaboration between the Acquisitions team and Strategic Suppliers to ensure coordinated behaviors and activities, delivering outputs within established quality, cost, and time parameters.
- Lead short-term business priority initiatives to advance the acquisition team's suite of policies and procedures.
- Partner with the Acquisitions team to provide guidance and validate business cases for strategic land acquisition.
- Establish relationships within a matrix organization to leverage support for the broader operations strategy.
- Actively promote and integrate Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) principles in all activities, supporting and adhering to all organizational initiatives, policies, and procedures related to EDI.
Essential Skills:
- Proficient in stakeholder management and influence.
- Effective communication skills to ensure seamless information flow within teams.
- Competence in project management methodologies.
- Strong report writing and data analysis capabilities.
- Proficient in IT applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, or equivalent.
- Adept at accessing, analyzing, and maintaining information across multiple IT databases and systems.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks, supported by qualifications such as APM or PRINCE2.
- Understanding of infrastructure projects.
- Knowledge of the land and property sector.
- Experience in developing business cases and conducting cost-benefit analyses.
- Proven ability to manage projects and workloads independently.
- Experience in collaborating with teams to foster effective working relationships and manage performance for successful delivery.
- Experience in overseeing processes within a technical discipline.
