About Elac Study Vacations
Elac Study Vacations is a reputable independent educational institution with multiple centres across the UK, dedicated to providing English language and cultural immersion programs for international students aged 9-17 years.
Program Overview
Our centres operate for several weeks during the summer, offering a structured environment for teaching English. We are seeking dedicated individuals who possess a genuine passion for educating young learners. While prior experience in summer school settings is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. This role presents an excellent opportunity for newly qualified educators to gain valuable experience and support as they embark on their teaching careers.
Instructors will be contracted for a total of 27 hours per week, which may include teaching, testing, and orientation activities. The distribution of these hours may vary throughout the contract period.
Most lessons are meticulously prepared to enhance students' language skills and 21st-century competencies. Instructors will have the flexibility to incorporate their own lesson plans, fostering creativity while minimizing the need for extensive lesson preparation. Daily repetition of lessons is encouraged to streamline planning efforts.
One of our centres also accommodates younger learners aged 7-10. Candidates with experience in this age group or in teaching English through performance are encouraged to highlight this in their applications.
Residential Responsibilities
Residential instructors will participate in one educational excursion per week, contributing to the overall experience while also helping to offset accommodation costs. Please note that there are no pastoral duties required, such as night-time supervision or wake-up calls.
- Applicants must possess:
- A degree or equivalent qualification
- A TEFLi certificate (e.g., CELTA or Trinity Cert. TESOL) with a minimum of 100 hours of training and at least 6 hours of supervised teaching practice, or
- A PGCE in English/Modern Languages with ELT/TESOL focus and relevant EFL teaching experience, or
- A University Certificate in ELT/TESOL with EFL teaching experience. *Candidates without a degree but holding a relevant EFL qualification and experience may be considered.
Basic salaries for teachers range from £485 to £525 per week. Total weekly earnings can vary from £465.17 to £588.37, depending on holiday entitlements. Residential staff will receive board and accommodation, with a weekly accommodation supplement deducted.

Contract Details
Contracts typically span 4 weeks, with the potential for an extension of up to 2 weeks. Shorter contracts may also be available upon inquiry. Staff training will occur shortly before the program commencement.
