Job Overview

Marmion is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Merchandising Analyst with a strong background in product and category performance management, as well as sales analysis within a retail sector. This role is pivotal in supporting our commercial objectives and enhancing our product offerings.

Position Responsibilities:

Reporting directly to the Head of Merchandising, you will play a crucial role in implementing our client's commercial strategy. Your contributions will be vital in maximizing revenue and profitability while ensuring our product range aligns with customer preferences and business objectives. Key responsibilities include:

  • Creating precise and timely sales forecasts for SKUs and categories to support informed decision-making.
  • Regularly evaluating product portfolios to improve performance and market positioning.
  • Managing weekly sales and stock intake plans to optimize stock levels in line with business requirements.
  • Enhancing product and category performance by effectively managing demand, markdowns, stock intake, and returns.
  • Proactively responding to trading trends and opportunities, adjusting in-season strategies for optimal commercial results.
  • Collaborating with marketing teams to prioritize SKUs and categories in promotional campaigns.
  • Working closely with the Supply Chain team to address risks and align with commercial strategies.
  • Monitoring competitor activities and market trends to provide insightful recommendations for product enhancement.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will be an ambitious and driven professional with a minimum of 3 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within the retail industry. Key qualifications include:

  • Proven track record in driving demand, optimizing sales, and managing gross margin.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a knack for accurately forecasting demand and identifying trends.
  • Proficient in Excel and knowledgeable in inventory management principles.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various teams.
