Job Title: Consultant Paediatrician

We are seeking experienced Paediatricians to join our Community Health Team at the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS). As a Consultant Paediatrician, you will provide high-quality community-based specialist paediatric developmental and medical assessment services to clients of community health.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide clinical developmental and medical assessment and management services for children referred to the Child Development Service, at various sites, utilising an advanced level of clinical practice.
  • Participate as an active member of multi-disciplinary teams involving Clinical Nurse Specialists, Clinical Psychologists, Social Workers, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Audiologists and others in providing a comprehensive developmental service.
  • Provide consultation and advice to other professionals in regard to all areas of clinical speciality.
  • Participate and assist in the continued medical educational activities and supervision of medical students, doctors in training and other health workers as appropriate.

Services focus on child health, growth and development, behaviour, immunisation and supporting families. The CAHS is proud to be the leading service provider for paediatric healthcare in Western Australia, as the State's only dedicated health service for infants, children and young people.

Requirements:
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency is an essential requirement for applicants to be considered for permanent positions in the public sector.
  • Fixed term and/or casual contracts can be held by individuals on visas that allow working rights within Australia.
  • This position is subject to a Western Australian Working With Children (WWC) Check.
