Job Overview:
This role is essential for executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance across various operational sites.
You will serve as the primary contact for all service and maintenance activities within your designated locations.
Your responsibilities will include the effective upkeep and repair of refrigeration systems at client sites, as well as providing support for HVAC systems that incorporate refrigeration components.
Our engineering teams deliver round-the-clock service coverage throughout the year, utilizing planned and extended working hours, including participation in standby duty.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet established timelines and response expectations.
- Quickly identify irreparable faults and inform the Line Manager, offering recommendations for suitable replacements.
- Ensure that Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedules are completed within the agreed timeframes, with all necessary documentation accurately filled out according to established procedures.
- Maintain all technical and compliance documentation in a current and accurate state.
- Participate in an out-of-hours standby rota, coordinating and communicating any necessary cover due to absences.
- Stay informed about relevant regulations and codes of practice applicable to your tasks.
- Order and install parts or components as per company protocols.
- Notify the company helpdesk of any procedural task conditions upon completion of work.
- Advise General Store Managers (GSMs) of any repair, maintenance, or installation issues that may impact store operations, fostering a collaborative relationship with all GSMs.
- Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and executing repairs as necessary.
- Conduct surveys and compile reports as directed by the refrigeration supervisor or Regional Facilities Manager (RFM).
- Complete all tasks to the highest standards efficiently and cost-effectively, adhering to the company's Health and Safety policies.
- Fulfill all assigned tasks within the designated timeframes to meet the satisfaction of both the company and the client.
- Demonstrate proficiency in both written and verbal communication, including report writing and documentation procedures.
- Attend training sessions as required to ensure your skills remain current with technical and business advancements.
- Complete all mandatory online training modules.
- Comply with the Health and Safety at Work Act and the company's Health and Safety Policy at all times.
- Collaborate with company and ASDA colleagues to maintain established quality standards consistently.
- Represent the company professionally and competently, developing strong working relationships with City and ASDA colleagues.
- Comply with any other reasonable requests or instructions from the City Management Team.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Relevant qualifications in Mathematics and English
- Completion of a Time-Served Apprenticeship
- NVQ/C&G Refrigeration Qualification
- Participation in an Approved Training Program
- Refrigerant Handling C&G 2079 or equivalent CITB certification
- Possession of a Skill Card
- Proficiency in Refrigeration, Electrical, Air Conditioning, and Mechanical systems
- Ability to interpret technical drawings
- Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation and applicable Codes of Practice
- Diagnostic and repair skills for equipment
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work effectively within a team

- Competence in using Access Equipment
- Valid Full Driving License is essential
- Availability for Out of Hours Working
