Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Town Planner to join our dynamic team. As a Senior Town Planner, you will take a lead role in managing and delivering a diverse range of complex planning projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage planning projects from inception to completion, coordinating multidisciplinary teams across projects, and ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policies, regulations, and procedures to clients and stakeholders.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and supporting documentation.
  • Conduct site assessments, feasibility studies, and impact analyses.
  • Liaise with local authorities, statutory bodies, and other stakeholders to negotiate and secure planning approvals.
  • Undertake and lead Pre-Application Community Consultation as part of the planning application process.
  • Mentor and support junior planners, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
  • Stay up to date with changes in planning legislation, policy, and best practices to maintain and enhance professional knowledge.

Requirements

  • A degree in Town Planning.
  • Full membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (RTPI) or the Irish Planning Institute (IPI).
  • A minimum of 5 years' professional experience in a planning consultancy or local planning authority.
  • Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering complex planning applications.
  • Familiarity with the Northern Ireland planning system, with clear evidence of a sound working knowledge of NI, UK or ROI planning jurisdictions.
  • Excellent report writing skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools including Microsoft Office - Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
