Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Midwife Practitioner to join our team at NHS Scotland. As a Midwife Practitioner - Complex Care Specialist, you will provide non-judgmental, individualized care to women with complex social needs, working in collaboration with families and multi-agency partners to improve outcomes for the unborn, woman, and her family.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver continuity of care to women with complex social needs throughout the antenatal and postnatal periods
  • Work in collaboration with families, social services, child protection advisors, and other multidisciplinary teams to improve outcomes
  • Provide health promotion, signposting, and support to women with complex social needs
  • Develop trusting and enduring relationships with vulnerable women and their families
  • Work in a community-based setting, providing care and monitoring to pregnant women with complex social needs
Requirements
  • Registered Midwife with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC)
  • Experience working with vulnerable women and complex social needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Knowledge of Scottish Government's 5-year forward plan and initiative for maternity and neonatal services, 'The Best Start'
